Istanbul Solo Vacation Photography

Olga is an American girl of Russian origin from California who visited Turkey for a vacation. We had an extraordinary portrait photography tour together in Istanbul. You can find more about our memorable day in the rest of the “Istanbul Solo Vacation Photography” article below.

Olga was not only warm and easy going but also a natural in front of the camera like many Russian women. She brought two different Russian traditional dresses for the photoshoot. We started at Sultanahmet Square, a public square in the historic center of Istanbul with significant architectural importance due to its collection of ancient and historic monuments and buildings, including the Blue Mosque, Ayasofya Mosque, Topkapi Palace and III Ahmet Fountain. I used these all landmarks as our background at the begining of the photo shoot.

We then moved to the Eminonu region’s seafront where the mesmerizing sky and clouds provided an excellent backdrop. At Galata Bridge, Olga changed into a red dress that beautifully contrasted with the bridge’s blue color. While going up around Galata Tower we found an old house ruin with fantastic harsh light so we stopped there for more pictures.

Our last stop was an extraordinary terrace next to Galata Tower which offered two diferent backgrounds. The tower itself and the Marmara Sea and Bosphorus. We rented a yellow long tail dress for Olga and took some photos with seagulls. A guy was feeding them and many of them got close to us providing a great frame. Olga also did an amazing job on the terrace swing.

Overall the portrait session was perfect and it was a pleasure to take Olga’s portraits.
