Como Lake Villa Pliniana Wedding

Destination Wedding at Lake Como, Italy

When Zeynep and David called me from New York, I was at a wedding shooting in Istanbul. At first, they were planning to get married in Marmaris D Maris Bay but they have changed their mind and chose Villa Pliniana Lake Como in Italy to marry. They shared their whole schedule in detail with me prior to their wedding. Thus we were able to organize the wedding day and before effectively.

Como Lake Villa Pliniana Wedding

I have arrived to the town Torno near Lake Como with the second shooter Acelya and videographer Gokhan in the week of wedding for 4 days. The wedding was to take place on Sunday and on Friday, we had a short tour around Como with our couple. We first rented two boats to tour Lake Como and our photo shooting lasted for almost 1.5 hours. I think one of the most joyous things to do in the hot and humid summer at Como is touring the lake by boat. The boat took us to Villa Pliniana where the wedding ceremony was to take place. We both scouted around and made some shooting here. Villa Pliniana was built by the Governor of Como, Count Giovanni Anguissola in 1573. The long-lasting renovation was completed this year and the first wedding here was to be our wedding.

In the evening of the next day we had a brief shooting tour in central Torno and at one of the best hotels of the region, Villa D’Este. At night, there was a “welcome dinner” for the guests at Villa Pliniana. The guests began to warm up at the first stop of this 3-day joyous marathon and the night was very joyful.

Boat Tour at Como Lake

The next morning, we had a boat tour with all the guests after breakfast at Pliniana that lasted for almost two hours. During this tour, we admired the size and beauty of the lake one more time. We had our lunch on Comacina Island and sailed back. At night, we all attended to “dinner party before wedding”. During the dinner party on the lawn of Castadiva Resort & Spa Lake Como, kith and kin of the couple made us have emotional moments with their emotional and fun speeches.

Wedding Day:

We have photographed Zeynep on wedding day in the wonderful spa of Pliniana and David had a swimming tour with his friends on the lake. Then preparations commenced. Wonderful set-up by Forever Amore Weddings suited very well to this wedding. Wedding ceremony was held in the yard of the Villa at 7:30 PM. Then we passed to the lawn for dinner. One of the most joyous things at dinner was the moment when tenors disguised as waiters began to sing from operas. Another surprise was the show of Italian belly dancers after dinner. Around 2:30 am, at the after party stage, an amazing cover rock band took place: Waste. I guess, we became their fans and still following them.

When I triggered the shutter for the last time, I think it was 5:32 AM and there was almost nobody else there except us. It was a wedding day that we wanted to last forever. The wonderful personalities of Zeynep and David contributed this a great deal.

Zeynep and David and all of their guests were really wonderful people. We were sorry that they would go back to New York after the wedding and we should be going back to Istanbul. We felt as if we were leaving our close friends. But we made a promise to each other to meet again somewhere, some time.
