As a wedding photographer, I had the privilege of capturing the special moments at the stunning Izmir Edward Whittall Garden in the cosmopolitan city of Izmir. It is a magnificent historical venue built in the 19th century. Also, It spans 10 acres and boasts a diverse array of plant life including giant trees, grass fields, small ponds, tropical trees, and endemic plants.To this day, the property is still maintained by the descendants of its original owner, English merchant and botanist Edward Whittall.

Recently, I had the honor of capturing the wedding of Michael and Valerio, a couple from Lebanon and Italy. Michael’s wedding day preparations started with hair and makeup in a room of the Edward Whittall house. Meanwhile, Valerio was getting ready downstairs with friends and family. The excitement was palpable as the guests arived and the couple greeted them during the cocktail hour.
During this time, I took the opportunity to capture some beautiful outdoor shots of the couple in the magnificent botanical garden. The green tones in the garden created a stunning backdrop for these photos.
Wedding Ceremony in the Garden
The wedding ceremony was held in the garden led by the Cesme Mayor and was full of humor and laughter. Then, It was followed by a mini concert from Michael’s sister. She played her guitar and sang, setting the tone for a lively and entertaining night for the guests.
Later, the party moved to the upper floor of the garden where a stage and dining area had been set up. The talented team at Hera Davet had put together a magnificent event combining the best of Lebanese and Italian entertainment. The guests were treated to a night of delicious food, music and dance, making this a truly unforgetable experience.
