Naureen and Akbar a lovely couple from San Jose, California USA recently had the pleasure of vacationing in Izmir. Lucky for them they found me as their vacation photographer. Firstly, we began our photo session at the iconic Konak Clock Tower which is situated in the historic Konak Square of Izmir. Built in 1901, the clock tower is a significant landmark of the city blending Ottoman and French architectural styles. It was constructed to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Ottoman Sultan Abdulhamid II’s reign.
Next we made our way to Konak Mosque also known as Yalı Mosque which is located in Konak district. Built in the classical Ottoman style during the 18th century, the mosque is adorned with stunning turquoise tiles and is a beloved structure of Konak Square.
Dario Moreno
After exploring Konak we hoped in a taxi and headed to Dario Moreno Street which is a cultural and tourist hub situated in the heart of Izmir. This charming street was named after Dario Moreno, a renowned singer and actor who was born in Izmir. It’s filled with delightful cafes, restaurants and shops, making it a popular destination for both locals and tourists. The street also features a statue of Dario Moreno and a museum that’s dedicated to his life and career. We had a great time capturing some lovely shots in front of Dario Moreno’s grafiti and the colorful steps nearby.
As a result Naureen and Akbar were such a delightful couple to work with. I’m grateful for the opportunity to capture their memories in the beautiful streets of Izmir. Their photosesion was full of joy and laughter as we explored the vibrant streets of Izmir together. Their love for each other was evident in every photoshot we captured and I was honored to be a part of this special moment. I hope these photos will serve as a cherished memory of their time in Izmir for years to come.
