Islington Town Hall Wedding, London, England
Melis begun following me on Instagram years ago and decided as “If I will marry one day, Ufuk Sarisen will shoot my photos”. Then, before contacting me, they began to suspect if I can go to London. But those who know me, know me well; destination weddings excites me more. I approached to this offer enthusiastically and we had a deal in a short while. We were to go there with my friend, Nilgün who shoots videos. As second photographer and second video shooter, super duo Ecem and Seda who are wedding photographers in England were to help me. In addition, photographer Durmus, who moved there recently was to assist us. The staff was more than enough and support of English photographers was really priceless.

I flew to London 5 days before the wedding. I wanted to tour the city to my heart’s content while I was there. We spent a lot of time with my friend Ali, who lives here. Then we met with incredible wedding photographers who live in London, Soven Amatya, Marius Tudor, Gabriela Matei and Natasha Bykova, then visited a photography exhibition. Nilgun came 2 days later and we toured the city for 2 days and made exciting shootings with DJI Mavic Pro. In brief, we had productive and joyous time apart from wedding.
Henna Night at Cyprus Kitchen
When I had a talk with Melis 2 days prior to wedding, I found out that they planned to have henna night that night at Cyprus Kitchen in Harringay. I told her that I would love to make some shooting there. Thank God, she accepted. It was a nice experience for me. I had never shot a henna night before and witnessing moments full of emotion was exciting for me and shooting teardrops under the red veil was incredible.
Wedding Day
Being a five-person team, we started the day a bit early and we began waiting the bride for preparations while we had our breakfast at a cafe. Preparations commenced at a coiffeur in Einfield Town. After the preparations, we got in the white limousine which came to pick us with bridesmaids. The groom, Mehmet, and his best men hit the road to Islington Town Hall where the wedding was to take place in a black limousine. Islington Town Hall is really an impressive wedding hall. We have abundantly shot photos here throughout the wedding and after then.
After the wedding, we made shooting of the couple in and around Islington Town Hall. As we have shot a lot alternative photos, we relievedly went to Kervensaray Banqueting Wedding Hall where the reception was to be held. This is a wedding venue mostly preferred by Turks living in London. Ece and Seda are very familiar with the venue and as all Turks are getting married here, they are a bit bored with the venue. But it was a new place for me and I was in good spirits. After abundant photo shooting, we went back to our hotel.
I am thankful to whole team for their help and to our couple for their hospitality.
