Silvia + Gökhan
Silvia is from Milan and Gökhan is from İzmir, they first met at Portugal during their education years. Their friendship became love and they moved to İzmir after they decided to tie the knot. They are both academicians at Ege University. You can read the whole story of “Milan Villa Valenca Wedding Photos” at the bottom of the page…
The couple had two weddings; one at Italy and the other at Turkey. We took photos and recorded the both weddings. I am going to talk about the wedding at Milan in this post. At this wedding, two really valuable colleagues helped me. Their support was great. Monica Bari is from Como Lake and Davide Garonzi is from Verona. I am really thankful to you.
We organised an pre-wedding shooting in Milan town centre the day before the wedding with Monica. Especially the pigeons in the square helped us a lot. After a long trip, we travelled to Sirmione which was 130 km away. This place is a small town located in the shores of the biggest lake of Italy Garda and known with the Scaligera Castle. It is a tourist attraction location and very crowded but it is impressive. Davide guided us there and brought us to really ‘must see’ places. We made the ultimate surprise at the rocky beach.
Wedding Day
The day after, we started the photo shoot in the morning at Silvia’s family’s house with the preparations then moved to the house where Gökhan and his family were. The wedding ceremony was at Parrocchia Santa Maria Assunta Cernusco church at Naviglio area. The moment that got me at this ceremony was the moment when the priest made a great gesture to the Turkish family. The priest conducted some research on Quran when he was studying and after the Catholic wedding ceremony, he read the passage “Fatiha” from the Quran and had the Muslim guests say “Amen.” This was really surprising and good.
Villa Valenca
After the ceremony, we set off for Villa Valenca which is at Brescia. The Villa was built in a very large area in the centre of the Franciacora are with a beautiful Italian garden. The atmosphere was unbelievable. Silvia and Gökhan passed through the main gate with their car and greeted everybody. The event started with welcoming cocktail and snacks. Then we had the dinner.
The wedding made a glorious start with speeches and toasts. Then we made an photo session by using every corner of the Villa. Then, the first dance and the “sorbetto” at the poolside took place. Sorbetto is a traditional Italian dessert and it is a tradition to serve it at weddings. After cutting the cake, the guests put candles at the pool and made their wishes. After that, the party ended when the guests jumped in the pool with Turkish and Italian songs. Before leaving we took some photos at the room where the couple would stay and took off to Switzerland for another photo shoot.
The couple’s adventure will continue at İzmir. Let’s give a short break.
