Let me take you through the heartwarming wedding tale of Sevgi and Tiago, set against the backdrop of the Germany-Portugal and Turkey triangle. This delightful couple, residing in Germany, embarked on a unique journey to celebrate their union in Ankara, Turkey. Tiago hails from Portugal, while Sevgi proudly represents Turkey. Their love story unfolded in the capital city of Ankara. From the very first email, Sevgi and Tiago expressed their desire to collaborate with a creative and original photographer fluent in English and Portuguese. Their clarity of vision and trust in the creative process became even more evident during our online meeting. Opting for purely documentary style photographs, they generously granted me creative freedom. A prospect that both relaxes and excites me. The shoot proved to be not only productive but also immensely enjoyable. Despite the limited time, we managed to squeeze in an outdoor shoot between the wedding and the reception.

Our initial meeting took place in the cozy confines of Hotel Monec in Ankara where Sevgi and Tiago were staying. Both individuals exuded warmth and kindness, providing me with the opportunity to document moments leading up to their departure from the hotel. Subsequently, we set out towards the Ayone Farm wedding venue acompanied by guests and relatives.

Ayone Farm Wedding

Ayone Farm, nestled in the Ankara Beynam Forests served as the picturesque setting for their celebration. Located on Chef Aybige Erisen’s 80 acre family farm, the venue boasted a winter gardenstyle indoor area and a charming garden. The family’s living space, a house on the farm, was allocated for our preparations. Sevgi, her cousin, and her mother enjoyed their preparations in this delightful space. Meanwhile, Tiago and his friends added final touches to the cocktail, dinner, and reception areas.

The ceremony area, designed to embody the farm’s rustic charm, featured straw bales for guests to sit on. Tiago entered the ceremony area with guests. The anticipation built as Sevgi, accompanied by her father, made her way towards the wedding venue. A poignant moment unfolded halfway when Sevgi’s father entrusted his daughter to Tiago’s father. The one hour long wedding ceremony commenced with the aplause of the guests, marked by heartfelt vows and touching speeches from family and friends.

Reception

Following the ceremony, everyone gathered in the cocktail area, where a lively jazz band entertained the guests. A brief yet delightful photo shoot with the couple on the farm was followed by a grand group shot capturing the spirit of the celebration. Departing from tradition, the flower tossing ceremony took place at the conclusion of the cocktail hour.

As night fell, guests were seated at tables arranged under trees, on grass and soil for a dreamlike dining experience. The simple yet functional table setting complemented by delectable food and drinks epitomized the dream envisioned by Sevgi and Tiago. The fusion of Turkish and Portuguese cultures was a testament to the harmonious union of two families. Laughter echoed, the couple danced, games were played and the night concluded around 2 o’clock with beautiful memories etched in everyone’s hearts.
