Selim and Jordan, a couple from America, decided to celebrate their wedding in Istanbul, Turkey, as it holds special significance for Selim and his family. They chose the luxurious Four Seasons Bosphorus Hotel and the stunning Sunset Grill & Bar as the venues for their wedding day. Selim a talented Turkish engineer and car designer at Kia Motors in California, first met Jordan in the same city. Our day began at the Four Seasons Bosphorus Hotel where the wedding preparations took place. The preparation room exuded an authentic ambiance adorned with exquisite Ottoman motifs. Together with Jordan’s sister and mother, the hair and makeup process commenced, setting the stage for the day’s festivities. Jordan donned a unique wedding dress which showcased a delicate wheat color with red and pink rose motifs assisted by her mother and sister.
The eagerly anticipated moment arrived as Selim and Jordan shared their first encounter in the hotel lobby. Both were brimming with excitement and anticipation. Following this heartfelt moment, we ventured into the hotel’s magnificent garden for a brief outdoor photoshoot. The garden provided a picturesque backdrop, acentuated by breathtaking views of the Bosphorus. We also captured group photos with their families amidst the garden’s beauty. As we exited the hotel, Selim’s father’s clasic Ford Mustang awaited us, adding a touch of nostalgia to our journey to Sunset Grill Bar for the wedding ceremony and reception.
Ceremony and Reception at Sunset
We witnesed a truly romantic wedding ceremony against a backdrop of golden wheat-yellow plants. As Jordan made her entrance, the enchanting sounds of Franz Schubert’s Ave Maria filled the air. Her wedding dress harmonized beautifully with the surrounding flora, creating a captivating visual spectacle. I particularly adored the giant poppy flower inspired light installations that adorned the garden, casting an enchanting glow both during the day and night. The wedding ceremony was filled with joyous moments and the couple also incorporated symbolic Jewish traditions, such as the breaking of the glass.
Following the ceremony, a vibrant and lively night awaited us at the Sunset Grill Bar. The evening commenced with a delightful dinner, followed by speeches and the ceremonial cake cutting. Jordan then changed into a diferent outfit and mesmerized the guests with a dance performance she had prepared with Selim.
In the company of 80 guests from America and Turkey, we enjoyed a wonderful celebration. It was a pleasure to be a part of their special day and I wish Selim and Jordan a lifetime filled with happiness and love.
