On one of the summer days when the pandemic situation was getting better, we met with dear Aysegül and Serdar in a cafe at Izmir Narlidere to discuss the details of their wedding day. All wedding venues were closed, but the ceremonies could be done. It was the days when cafes and restaurants were open and cases were few enough. You can more or less guess how the day will pass on the first meeting with the couple. There were two wonderfully sweet, funny and comfortable people in front of me. The whole process really went through that flavor.

The night part of our first plan sounded very nice, for the pandemic days. After the ceremony in the city hall, the wedding dinner will be held in their summer house at Gumuldere. They thought this family dinner would be better for the old family members. Later, as the date approached, the plan changed. In order not to risk the old parents, they decided to go to a bar restaurant ,Deli Dolu Meyhane with some close friends.
Exactly one month after this plan, the last message from Aysegül was, “We canceled the dinner. Corona case numbers are increasing, our doctor friends did not recommend it. Naturally, we were afraid. Our day will end after the couple shooting. ”Frankly, it was a very appropriate decision. We would both reduce our risk and we would have a lot of time for shooting.
Wedding Day
In the morning of the wedding day, we came to Zeki Coiffeur in Ückuyular with dear Tuvana Siralar who came to support me. Here, together with Aysegül’s friends, we photographed her preparation for about 3 hours. We were at Aysegül’s house in Gaziemir before noon for the bride reception ceremony. All the elders were waiting for the groom, sitting in the garden of the house wearing their masks. These first meetings of Serdar and Aysegül were the most emotional moments of the day. We were all touched by their tears.
We came to the Fuar Wedding Hall in Izmir Kordon for the wedding ceremony. They took in a limited number of guests within the framework of social distance rules. It was a quick wedding ceremony. Then my dear colleague Furkan Akarsu joined us. We shot with the family and guests in front of the wedding hall.
Now the wedding is over and the couple left us a 4-hour period for a photo session until sunset. First, we started our shooting in the green backgrounds of Kültürpark, which includes the Fuar Wedding Hall. Then we continued on a lonely pier close to the center of Urla. Finally, we sunk the day in Demircili. We both had fun and had a very efficient day for pandemic conditions.
I wish a healthy and happy life to Aysegül and Serdar.
